THERAPIES EMPLOYED:
PRACTICE STATEMENT:
“To help people when they are troubled, a doctor must be compassionate, have an extensive education, and have a thorough understanding of people.
“Confidentiality and respect for personal experience, autonomy, and potential for change and growth are essential.
“I am able to provide comprehensive consultations, and offer the broadest range of treatments from brief interventions to psychoanalysis. I am not beholden to the latest fads and gimmicks, and I try to explain to patients the advantages and disadvantages of all pertinent treatment options.
“While I have had the honor of treating many doctors, mental health professionals, and their families, I treat people from all walks of life for a wide variety of problems including anxiety, depression, sexual disorders, relationship problems, etc.
“As managed care does not allow for the full practice of psychiatry with independence and confidentiality, I do not participate in any managed care programs. When it is necessary, however, I am sometimes able to see a patient at a reduced fee, or help find additional options.”
